Adelboden’s Engstligenalp, a big ass plateau (4 square miles) on the western Swiss Alps, is marking its fifth season hosting a "pop up" golf course. Play runs September 10 through October 25 on a makeshift course with literal tee “boxes” made of turf affixed to wooden pallets, aux natural fairways, and artificial grass greens. As a result the course is bunker free but hazards abound form rocky outcroppings, whistling mountain winds and dense fluffy cloud masses that you just might have to pierce with your ball. There’s a Berghotel in Engstligenalp but many golfers choose to stay in the village below where they have access to more amenities and then take the cable car up to play.

As the daylight between Day and the rest of the leaderboard broadens there’s still one super tight tussle going on—the battle of the coolest belt. Jordan Spieth’s style is typically drab and underwhelming but on PGA Championship Sunday at Whistling Straits he is sporting a woven leather belt that pops with flecks of the full grayscale range ($39.99.) Meanwhile awesome Aussie Jason Day is rocking a gunmetal black Adidas Trophy belt with the tri-striped logo popping in corrugated metal that rings the register at $50.
Wish golf glove’s color palette was more Sherwin Williams showroom and less Wimbledon white? Bender Golf is helping players expand their hand covering horizons with an arsenal of vivid, colorful, full bleed options meant to let your glove hand shine. Recent Bender sightings include PGA TOUR pro Tim Petrovic who rocked their royal blue at the John Deere classic, former MLB All-Star Mark Mulder in Cardinal red of course and Larry The Cable Guy repping his alma mater Nebraska in scarlet red. Personally I’m a fan of their hunting camo.
