The green fees during the five week window the course is open will run you 85 Swiss Francs, roughly $87 U.S. dollars. Recap your round at the rustic chalet/clubhouse while enjoying the cheesy goodness of raclette. Book ahead by emailing kontakt@golfmountain.ch.
Adelboden’s Engstligenalp, a big ass plateau (4 square miles) on the western Swiss Alps, is marking its fifth season hosting a "pop up" golf course. Play runs September 10 through October 25 on a makeshift course with literal tee “boxes” made of turf affixed to wooden pallets, aux natural fairways, and artificial grass greens. As a result the course is bunker free but hazards abound form rocky outcroppings, whistling mountain winds and dense fluffy cloud masses that you just might have to pierce with your ball. There’s a Berghotel in Engstligenalp but many golfers choose to stay in the village below where they have access to more amenities and then take the cable car up to play.
